Who is Artemes?

Artemes, also and more usually known as Artemis, was the ancient Greek goddess of hunting and of women. She is equivelent to the Roman goddess Diana.

Images of Artemes often appear on ancient works of art, usually wearing animal skins and accompanied by deer. In post classical paintings she is often portrayed as bathing; as goddess of hunting; or with her twin brother Apollo.

The great temple of Artemes at Ephesus is listed as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Although ruined, it can still be seen to have had a similar appearance to the well-known Parthenon, but was about twice as long in each dimension.
